The Red Tip Cocoplum is a commonly used native plant that is usually box-cut to fit in designated areas. The rounded, shiny green leaves are set off by red-tipped new growth on this most commonly sold variety. This tropical shrub produces white blooms and fruit that attracts a variety of birds, perfect for a wildlife garden. This shrub is drought-tolerant making it a very hardy choice.
Excellent as hedge shrubs or privacy screen, these native Florida plants can grow to about 15 feet if you allow them.
